St. Louis (February 21, 2020) – A multi-vehicle accident along Interstate 64 resulted in at least one person being hospitalized on Thursday, February 20th.

The collision, which involved at least six vehicles, took place in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 a little west of Interstate 270.

First responders were dispatched to the scene to extricate a driver that was trapped inside their car.

Several lanes of the interstate were shut down and traffic was backed up almost as far as Boones Crossing.

A crash reconstruction crew was also at the crash site attempting to determine the cause of the accident.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.

Multi-vehicle collisions typically take place on highways and interstates where there are a lot of different vehicles driving at excessive speeds. Under these conditions, even a collision that might have otherwise been fairly insignificant is able to quickly turn into a devastating multi-vehicle accident, made increasingly worse by approaching drivers who are unaware of the incident becoming involved in the collision as well.
