St. Louis, MO – Fatal U-Turn Accident on Gravois Rd

St. Louis, MO (February 24, 2020) – Officers from the St. Louis Police Department are looking into a fatal car accident that took place at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24th in the 6100 block of Gravois Road.

Police reports indicate that a car was driving westbound along Gravois Road. The driver attempted to make a U-turn and was put directly in the path of an eastbound pick-up truck.

The car was rear-ended by the pick-up truck and then ran into two other cars that were parked along the north side of the road.

The driver of the pick-up was transported to a local hospital along with the passengers of the other car. One of the passengers, a 42-year-old man, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

We would like to offer our condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

U-Turn Accidents in St. Louis

Making a U-turn is often dangerous. You will have to stop and turn across oncoming traffic, which can easily cause an accident. This is the main reason that U-turns are illegal at many St. Louis intersections and have signs letting you know that the maneuver is prohibited.

If you determine that you absolutely have to make a U-turn, you should attempt to do so only after you make sure that it is legally permissible and make sure you are yielding to all oncoming traffic.

Our Missouri personal injury attorneys understand the legal system, Missouri traffic laws, and how to deal with big insurance companies that would otherwise try to bully accident victims into small settlements.
