Hunting is a necessary part of life for a lot of people, and an enjoyable recreational sport for many others. Regrettably, hunting is an activity that is also fraught with peril. As a matter of fact, based on data published by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, there were a total of 8,122 injuries caused by hunting accidents in the United States last year alone. That equals out to 50 injuries for every 100,000 people related to hunting accidents.
The majority of victims of hunting accidents are hunters themselves, however, non-hunters are also just as vulnerable to these mishaps.
