Pedestrian Accidents in Kansas City

Pedestrian-involved car accidents take place far more frequently than most people realize. Based on research recently published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, approximately 80,000 pedestrians sustain some type of injury as the result of a motor vehicle accident in the United States every year. Approximately 5,000 of these pedestrian injuries prove to be fatal.

The defenseless nature of pedestrians means their involvement in an accident is more likely to produce disabling injuries and sometimes may result in a fatality. Society’s rapidly increasing numbers of distracted drivers are increasing the rate of these avoidable accidents. Pedestrians who have suffered injuries at the hands of a distracted or otherwise negligent driver may have the legal right to seek financial reimbursement for all losses and damages arising from their accident.
