Kansas City, MO (December 24, 2019) – One person was killed during a vehicle collision on Sunday, December 22nd in the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50.

State Troopers indicated that a 2016 Ford pick-up truck with a trailer attached was heading eastbound along U.S. 50 when the trailer came unhooked and careened over the median, colliding with a 2015 Jeep.

The force of the impact caused the Jeep to veer off the righthand side of the road.

The driver of the Jeep, Walter Shannon, 63, a resident of Warrensburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Laura Shannon, 48, also of Warrensburg, was transported to a local trauma center with critical injuries.

The accident caused the US 50 to be closed for several hours.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Walter Shannon, at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family in hopes of a full recovery.

No matter who was found to be liable for your accident, a Kansas City personal injury attorney will be able to help you sort through injury liability information, insurance claims, and develop a solid defense against any potential legal actions.

Car crashes often incorporate a lot of unexpected legal hurdles such as uninsured motorists, the sudden appearance of a pedestrian, premises liability, and employer liability.

A Missouri personal injury attorney will understand the legal system, Missouri traffic laws, and how to deal with big insurance companies that would otherwise try to bully you into a smaller settlement.
