Kansas City, MO (May 27, 2020) – A drowning incident on Monday left one child seriously injured, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department.

At around 3:50 p.m., on May 25, authorities were called to the scene of an incident at the Northland Motel located in the 3900 block of North Mulberry Street.

Reports show that a 1-year-old child was in the pool area when they slipped out of the life jacket. The child was recovered from the water, unconscious but breathing.

They were rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
