Day Care “Mosquito” Bite

A mother received a call from a day care employee claiming her son had an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite. When she arrived, she found her 8-month-old son with bruises, scrapes, bite marks, and a swollen head. When questioned by the boy’s mother, the day care had no answers. News reporters also sought comment from the day care. All they met was a locked door.

The boy’s mother rushed him to the hospital. The child abuse allegations are currently being investigated by Child Protective Services and local police. The day care has been cited for 16 health and safety violations over the past 3 years.

We can Help with Day Care Abuse

People who physically or sexually abuse day care children face criminal punishment. In addition to that, the children’s parents can obtain compensation from the owner, employees and/or their insurer. One of the biggest hurdles we face in handling these types of cases is proving the abuse because cases involving minor children may come down to “he said, she said”.

With this in mind, it is vital that parents seek medical treatment for their child and report the suspected abuse as soon as possible. A finding by a medical examiner of injuries consistent with abuse can be the difference between prevailing in court or walking away with nothing. Do not wait to take your child for an examination if you suspect abuse.

We have obtained significant awards for children and their parents in cases against youth organizations, daycare centers, schools, and churches. If you find yourself in this unfortunate situation, do not hesitate to give us a call.
