Centerview, MO (April 10, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Thursday in Johnson County sent one man to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

At around 3:40 p.m., on April 9, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to an auto collision on the eastbound side of Northwest US Highway 50.

According to reports, 50-year-old Phillip Hon was traveling along the highway in 2000 Toyota Forerunner when he slowed his vehicle to turn at the intersection with Northwest 1421 Road.

As 26-year-old Mitchell Gray approached Hon, he failed to control his speed and struck Hon’s vehicle with his 2016 Toyota pickup truck.

The impact of the collision caused Hon’s vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn.

Hon was seriously injured in the collision and transported via JCAD to St. Luke’s on the Plaza for treatment.

At this time, police are investigating.

Our thoughts are with Mr. Phillip Hon and his family at this time.
